Apply for 2025 Youth Tour

Calling all area high-school JUNIORS interested in a FREE trip to Washington DC!!

Applications are now live for our 2025 Youth Tour. If you know a high school junior in our service area, please tag them and help us spread the word about this incredible program.

What is Youth Tour??

Arkansas’ electric cooperatives have sponsored the tour for Arkansas youth annually since 1990. Around 40 high school juniors attend the Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas’ Youth Tour each year. Tour participants are selected by the state’s 17 electric distribution cooperatives. During the tour, the group visits historic sites such as Mount Vernon, the Smithsonian Institution, Arlington National Cemetery, the Lincoln Memorial, the U.S. Holocaust Museum, and the U.S. Capitol. They also visit with members of the Arkansas Congressional Delegation.

Who attends??

Craighead Electric selects two high-school juniors to attend Youth Tour. Applicants must either be a member of Craighead Electric or must attend a school that we service. Chaperones from cooperatives across the state accompany the youth on tour.

How much does it cost??

All expenses are paid! By sponsoring the Youth Tour, Craighead Electric Cooperative provides opportunities to help our youth grow and learn. We are working to fulfill one of the “Seven Cooperative Principles” that guide our member-owned business — commitment to community. Just as we have helped build the state by providing affordable and reliable energy since 1937, we are working to help build leaders for tomorrow.

When is it??

Applicants must be available to attend the tour June 14-20, 2025.

How do I apply??

Submit your application online by February 28th! In-person interviews will be conducted for finalists during March and final candidates will be selected in April 2025. Apply now online!
