Craighead Electric Cooperative recently assisted the City of Brookland in the installation of two tornado sirens.
According to Brian Duncan, CEO of Craighead Electric, the effort is part of the cooperative’s mission to improve the quality of life for its members.
“In Arkansas tornado sirens are life-savers,” Duncan said. “By installing the sirens the citizens of Brookland will be alerted once a tornado warning is issued and hopefully lives will be saved as a result. Our employees, friends and neighbors will benefit from the sirens for years to come.”
Brookland Mayor Kenneth Jones said the city of Brookland and Craighead Electric shares a great community partnership. He said the sirens were acquired from City of Jonesboro.
“Craighead Electric works closely with the city to assist with projects whenever possible,” Jones said. “Our city is fortunate to have a local energy provider that is willing to lend a hand to its neighbors.”
