Due to historic winter weather in February resulting in an excessive increase in electric usage, Craighead Electric members will experience a higher-than-normal electric bill. One of the factors impacting their bill is the Energy Costs Adjustment.
Craighead Electric Cooperative teamed up with their wholesale electricity provider Arkansas Electric Cooperative to install a wildlife deterrent fence around the McCormick Substation.
Craighead Electric Cooperative was incorporated on August 13th, 1937, the second electric cooperative in Arkansas to do so under the Rural Electrification Act signed by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. In the 80 years that have passed, the co-op has grown by leaps and bounds.
