Craighead Electric Cooperative is returning $1.4 million to its members this year and you can claim your check at one of the three events in June.
CECC will submit a rate adjustment request to the Arkansas Public Service Commission in July. If approved, it will go into effect with usage beginning Oct. 1, 2022, and reflect a 9.3% average increase across all rate classes — residential, commercial, and lighting, including an increase in the service availability charge.
To celebrate our 85th year in business, we are hosting three capital credit check pick-up events: 7:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. June 8th at the Jonesboro headquarters, June 15th at the Paragould district office, and June 22nd at the Walnut Ridge district office.
After 44 years of employment at Craighead Electric Cooperative Corporation, Brian Duncan has retired as CEO. He is succeeded by Jeremiah Sloan, former COO of empower Broadband.
The Board of Directors of Craighead Electric Cooperative has named Jeremiah Sloan as the new Chief Executive Officer of the corporation. Terry Rorex, Board Chairman, stated, “We are excited to announce Jeremiah Sloan as the newly appointed CEO of Craighead Electric. Sloan will succeed Brian Duncan following his retirement in March.”
The Arkansas Public Service Commission (APSC) has announced the date of May 3, 2021, to lift the moratorium on disconnections for electric services.
Due to historic winter weather in February resulting in an excessive increase in electric usage, Craighead Electric members will experience a higher-than-normal electric bill. One of the factors impacting their bill is the Energy Costs Adjustment.
Craighead Electric Cooperative teamed up with their wholesale electricity provider Arkansas Electric Cooperative to install a wildlife deterrent fence around the McCormick Substation.
Craighead Electric Cooperative was incorporated on August 13th, 1937, the second electric cooperative in Arkansas to do so under the Rural Electrification Act signed by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. In the 80 years that have passed, the co-op has grown by leaps and bounds.
