About the Scholarships
Craighead Electric Cooperative and empower are proud to invest in the future of the communities we serve by offering two scholarship opportunities for graduating high school seniors in 2026.
These scholarships are designed to support students as they take the next step in their education while recognizing those who demonstrate strong academic performance, initiative, and a commitment to making a difference.
Wired for Success Scholarship
The Wired for Success Scholarship will award $4,500 to one graduating senior who lives in a household served by Craighead Electric and/or empower. Applicants must plan to attend an accredited college, university, technical school, or vocational program.
This scholarship reflects our commitment to powering lives through reliable electricity and connecting communities through high-speed broadband. Just as we provide essential services, this investment helps power students’ educational journeys and future opportunities.
Keith Blocker Memorial Scholarship
The Keith Blocker Memorial Scholarship will award $9,000 to one graduating senior pursuing a degree in engineering or a related technical field.
This scholarship honors the legacy of Keith Blocker, who dedicated more than 35 years of service to Craighead Electric. His leadership and innovation helped shape the cooperative’s system and strengthen the reliability our members depend on today. By supporting future engineers, this scholarship carries forward his commitment to progress and service.
Application Details
Both scholarships are open to graduating high school seniors who meet eligibility requirements, including a minimum 3.0 GPA. Applicants will be asked to submit a short essay, letters of recommendation, and a high school transcript as part of the application process.
All applications must be submitted by May 15, 2026.
After applications are reviewed, finalists will be invited to interview at Craighead Electric’s headquarters in Jonesboro.
